3rd May

Well, what happened to April???
I think it must have rained every day.
From actually sunbathing on the beach at Cromer in March to worrying about floods in early May.
It should have been a month to start benefiting from longer evenings - but I think it's a conspiracy by the oil companies to make us keep the heating on for longer.

The month's highlights?
Well, on the football field, Norwich have had an indifferent month. Safety for next season has obviously relaxed the team and results have dipped. Luton made a strong push towards the play-offs so hopefully there will be a Wembley final and promotion back to near normality of the Football League.

On the home front, Jenny seems to be involved in exams all the while. Next year is the big year for finals before moving up to 6th form though she is revising like mad every day right now.
Rosie and DG went on a very enjoyable trip to Irlam hall in Derbyshire with GVS. They climbed big hills, went down mines and got soaked to the skin.
My fishing season has started though a rotten back injury and rottener weather has put paid to much fluff chucking. Tried to get the bike out regularly too but it's always raining
We Still have a lodger. Nan hopes to be in her new gaff before the end of May. Not sure who is going to do the washing up once she has gone, but it will be a bit quieter!
Mother is on her usual form. There seems to be very few days where she doesn't have a little cry while visiting or phoning up. Bottom line is - she isn't very happy and isn't very well, so we are all having to share in that. Unfortunately there's not a lot anyone can do to help her other than give here more time - which is proving difficult for us all. A few changes at St Nicholas staff wise may help, but Mum will need to be a lot more mobile before she breaks through her current tearful state. I'm off to see her shortly though it will be too cold and wet to go out so that won't help bring on a smile.

Bring me sunshine
Jez
