Look up the world

26th March 2012

Missed a couple of weeks since my last diary entry, so here are some highlights from the last few days.

1st of all, my old mum. She was doing fine what with the good weather meaning she can get out for fresh air more often and had her birthday - which included a meal out with all her boys. We even had a bonus fish and chip supper last week in the early evening sun at a park on the cliff top in Sheringham. Sadly she had a blood problem and is currently at the N&N hospital (waitng for transport back to Sheringham) having been topped up with some new juice. I hope to see her later today to get the full story on her little trip to Norwich.

We still have our lodger. Nan G has an offer accepted on a property in Sheringham and she hopes all will be concluded soon. I think she will be with us for a while longer yet though.

Rosie took a staring role in the school production of Alice (which her mother/teacher produced) last Wednesday. It was a whole school production and they should both be proud of their efforts. Jenny has been adding to her list of live shows she's been too  - this weekend she wast at Nero at the UEA then all the girls went to the O2 to see JLS, Olly Murs and Rizzle Kicks. I did the sensible thing and went to watch Norwich beat Wolves, despite just getting over a sickness bug.

The good weather and hour change makes a massive difference to life out in a field. Can't wait to get out in the evenings on foot or bike, on a beach or in a pub garden. Cricket season is only a short while away though my achy back is telling me to forget it for another year. I'd love to be running again but with the problems I had last year with a trapped nerve, I think I'd better build myself up slowly.

4th March

Well, we have our lodger now - but maybe not for long as there is a deal in the offing down Sheringham Way.
Granny came over for lunch today in a specially adapted taxi - so we had quite a houseful with Nan here too.

Jenny is off in Norwich this evening watching Labyrinth? at the UEA. Muggin's here as agreed to pick her and her pals up and deposit them round North Norfolk round midnight tonight. Sunday nights are usually spent catching up on sleep - getting ready for the week ahead. That will have to go on hold till tomorrow.

Rosie did herself proud (and the whole school did) at the cross country event in North Walsham on Friday. For such a small school then got some really creditable performances and scooped a few prizes too.

The recent good early spring weather has finished. This morning it started raining and it isn't due to let up till some time on Tuesday (except when it turns to snow). I walked around the village before dark this evening and it brought back memories of the Hadrians Wall walk in incessant rain. At least I didn't have to put up with Richards whining today!

Pleased we didn't bother with a trip to Stoke on Saturday. A painful 1-0 defeat to what sounded like a fairly awful lumpy Stoke side. Last on MOTD was fair enough this week

Here's some photos from the last few days
